There are plenty of rumors that HoverZoom scummed on our web history and injected malwares.
It seems that this is a recurring issue.
When I Googled for "Hover zoom is", I found a 9 month old issue on reddit where the creator was admitting that he snatched affiliated links to amazon etc...
So, at the moment, I am switching to Imagus:
