May 29: the International Mount Everest Day

May 29 is the International Mount Everest Day.


Recently, the government of Nepal has announced to celebrate May 29 as the International Mount Everest Day from this year.

This is to commemorate the first ascension of the peak in 1953 by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. The day also marks the memory of the first conquerors.

Although Nepal is a small country, it has got amazing and beautiful places in there.
Many people do not know that (Siddhartha) Gautam Buddha was born in Nepal. Some are simply ignorant.

    why don't you have a poll question about that to know what percent of people are ignorant about the fact?

    Good idea!

    One of My friend Amit had poll on Buddha, fortunately 100% of voters knew it.
    (Ignorant people do not vote!; they just ignore it)
