When I share pictures with my friends we both loose X GB of space from dropbox. However, the idea of fair share is that the total space should be shared between people. So, if 4 people join a folder, all 4 should share the space. So, instead of losing out X GB each, which is 4X GB loss, it should just be that each loses X/4 GB. Just like GTPS: Going Together Paying Separately, that we used to do in canteens in university. And does it sound fair?!
Doing this will encourage more sharing among friends. I think that is also to goal of dropbox. Isn't it?
