Tomato Model of Updates in Chrome?

"Chrome menu on the browser changes color to green Update Chrome, orange Sync error, or red . " I have not closed chrome for sometime now.
Obviously, chrome updates have been rolled in. The current one is Version 30.X.X.X.
The update notification bar (on the right side of the browser) has changed color from green to yellow. I am wondering whether the color change is triggered by time. Just as if a tomato grew out in the field and it is changing the color from green to red as it becomes more ripe. I am expecting that with time, it will become red. I wonder whether the color change is simply indication of time of rolled updates or if there is something critical in the updates that is urging to be updated?

Here is the notification:
"Google Chrome is out of date because it hasn't been relaunched in a while. An update is available and will be applied as soon as you relaunch."
The notification tells me that it is time not anything critical. Can I wait until it becomes fully ripe?

Blog This! extension for chrome

Among the other useful tools in chrome extension store, I like "BlogThis" tool.
The tool was brought to my attention by the blogger's blog updates.
Ironically, the tool did now work when I was in the blogthis page.

Now anything that you liked can be blogged with it... as the tool opens a page with blogspot compose mode with the links popped in. Neat!

Zoom the PDF in Google Chrome

Google chrome can be used as the  pdf  viewer. My other options are adobe's reader, Foxit etc.
In order to zoom into the pdf document in Google chrome, take the mouse pointer to the bottom right corner. Then a set of tools appears.
You can then zoom in, zoom out, fit to the width or fit to the height (from right to left as shown in picture above).

Note:
PDF is not owned by Adobe.

Google Cloud Print

There were days when installing the printer that worked across the network  was pain in the neck.
Personally, when I was able to connect to printer via IP, it was a triumph to me.

When playing with the chrome setting, I stumbled across this gem:
chrome://settings/advanced

Open Multiple (Home) Pages in Google Chrome

Type the following in the browser

chrome://settings/browser

This will take to the preferences page.
Click for larger view.
AS shown in the figure, go to basics and select the Home page section.
Then on the "open this page" box type the following javascript:

javascript:(function(){ window.location.href='https://sites1.ext'; window.open('http://scholar.google.com/'); })();

Next time you click the home button, you will have two sites open.

"fi" is displayed as Box in Chrome-PDF viewer

classification, simplification, first, find, fixed, specifically, etc what is common in all of them?
"fi" and it is being displayed as a box in my chrome-pdf viewer.
Although it makes sense when we are reading the text, it is annoying.
Is it the case of embedded font by the compiler?
Anything that can be done with it?
