Crowded channel much?
See the figure below, for example:
As you can see Channel 1 is much crowded with neighbor's wifi invading my room. 2, and 6 also have companions.
This is how I did Wi-Fi Scanner in MacOSx.
Open the Wireless Diagnostics Utility: search for “Wireless Diagnostics”in the spotlight (or Option Click on the wifi sign on the wifi sign).
Go to the Windows Menu >> Utilities. Then head over to the "Wi-Fi Scan" tab.
Then, Click "Scan Now"
This will display the channels being used by the detected wifis.
Select the least used ones in your wifi setup admin page. Voila!
