Space Race: back to back!

From BBC: Two shuttles on the launch pad at the same time. Because Atlantis (near) cannot reach the safety of the space station if something goes wrong on its upcoming servicing mission to the Hubble telescope, Endeavour (far) must be on standby for a rescue mission.

  1. It would be interesting to have two in space at the same time. I don't remember that it was done before. I wouldn't want whatever bad thing to happen that would make them have to do a rescue mission, but it would be interesting to see how it would be done.

  2. What a great shot. It's like someone is holding up a gigantic mirror.

  3. We went to Canaveral National Seashore last weekend and took some pics. I posted them at my blog yesterday. We plan on going back this weekend to try to get some better ones too.
