Yahoo! 360 is closing: who cares?

A message from Yahoo! 360 team:

Dear Yahoo! 360° customer,

We will be officially closing Yahoo! 360° on July 13, 2009, to focus our efforts on making your new profile on Yahoo! the place where you connect with the people who matter to you most. As a result, you will need to move your 360° information to your new profile before this date. After July 12, 2009, your content on Yahoo! 360° will no longer be accessible.

But who cares?

I am not trying to be mean and sound ridiculous!
Yahoo 360 was already not very functional anyway. I had a yahoo 360 profile. I actually encouraged many of my friends to be connected through 360.yahoo.com.
Here is my two cents on yahoo 360:
The good parts:

• One can nudge, and leave a message.
  
• The idea of "Blast message" was father of microblogging(?)
• easy connection

Bad parts:

• No adsense (ha ha what a joke!)
  
• I mean no frameworks for flexible page elements.
• Only three feeds allowed to be displayed
• not easy to navigate
• creepy header with yahoo ads

To me what made me leave 360 platform was the fact that there was no blogger tool available. I could do no experiments and the navigation was always nightmare. It was very rigid and yet claimed to be a blog tool! Good decision that they are closing! It will allow them to concentrate on something useful.

News From Nepal: Still want more pain?

The political situation of Nepal has always been so fragile that it can take any direction in any moment. That is the case for at least last 15 years. I have to careful when I talk about the last 15 years of multi party democracy in Nepal. I am trying to reflect the basic annoying factor of Nepali Democracy. It looked so chaotic. Such chaotic movements can be understood as the learning steps towards stabilization. But the question is how much Nepali people has to pay before they can say "this is OK". I know that stage is not yet attainable from the current situation (for few more years). Also, One can not even imagine that complete stability in politics is very good thing . For example, political stability of China and the system of India are very different in nature. But the question is what are we learning towards stability?
However,  when I was talking about the stability, I was talking about the rule of law. At any given time, the rule of law must be established. The leaders can change, so can the people's view on different political groups but if the superiority of rule can be established, we can attain peace.
Well, leave all these theoretical stuffs aside.
Stable and mature multi party democracy and rule of law all seems like joke in today's Nepal.
But, still, we can not loose our hopes!

Hope is what we seek in the news from Nepal.
Give us some good news!!!

Has anyone imagined Nepal after 10 years (without being biased) ?

Chaotic Movements of Rumba: Long Exposure

I have found a picture of Long Exposure (30 min ) photography of Rumba: the room sweeper!

I kinda like the way of blind exploration it is doing throughout the navigational area. The question is: can there be smarter way to clean the room while sweeping ???
If you do not care how long it takes to clean it all, that is fine. But if you want to get the job done in given minute, is this the best way to sweep the area?

Firefox addons: Measure it!

I had a ruler widget in opera which was quite handy when I wanted to measure the dimension of the web page contents. The measure becomes handy particularly when you are trying to get the idea of the size of tool box you are going to install to your page. Particularly, for my blog, I need it so that it will not be destroyed by the newest addition.
So, the story of opera with ruler was continued.
Every time, I wished for similar firefox extensions.

Today, I found a handy add on for firefox:
Measure it!

This tool really handy!
Try it out!

In my case the small icon on the left-bottom corner of the browser allows me to measure the dimension; just by dragging around the subject of interest!
