BasantG has forwarded me the following video.
The flute is really nice. This song describes the sublime love of a village girl on her way to the quest of her beloved one. Basically, the song says " I have dedicated my heart, mind and soul to you, but suffering a lot without you".
Doing the performance in stage in foreign land are two strikingly interesting facts.
Thumbs up!

Post me some comments how it could be used? Because iframe src needs a lot of sites to be listed and is huge pain if you want to create a list of sites. Morever, it needs a lot of pages to be loaded.
This is not a good code anyway!

Being friendly in TA Job
Teachings Assistantship(TA) is what makes our dream of studying higher come true.
As a PhD student, we not only get the chance to get enrolled into the campus which we did like, but also provides the pocket money to live with. Well, I saved some to travel back to Nepal last December. After the price increase and inflation, traveling money is different story.
Being in the TA duty is fun. I love interactions. I really do. I become more happy if someone learns the subject matter. I do become equally excited by learning new methods to make them understand it. Students are students, some of them come to class because they have to (?) some of them come to learn and some just to have fun.
If they learn with fun, that is ok with me. If they sleep, I don't know. The degree of responsibility depends on the situations.
What I do not like the most is the student with mobile on hand.
Back in my country, when I was teaching for 10+2 level, the School used to have very dim view on the mobile carriers. May be I do carry same phobia to mobile in here.
I will tell you an interesting story in the next post...

OpenOffice.org 3.0
Have you got OpenOffice.org 3.0?
Download it here!
http://download.openoffice.org/
I am waiting to see if My Ubuntu gets it automatically.
OpenOffice.org 3 is the leading open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. It is available in many languages and works on all common computers. It stores all your data in an international open standard format and can also read and write files from other common office software packages. It can be downloaded and used completely free of charge for any purpose.
Great software
OpenOffice.org 3 is the result of over twenty years' software engineering. Designed from the start as a single piece of software, it has a consistency other products cannot match. A completely open development process means that anyone can report bugs, request new features, or enhance the software. The result: OpenOffice.org 3 does everything you want your office software to do, the way you want it to.
Easy to use
OpenOffice.org 3 is easy to learn, and if you're already using another office software package, you'll take to OpenOffice.org 3 straight away. Our world-wide native-language community means that OpenOffice.org 3 is probably available and supported in your own language. And if you already have files from another office package - OpenOffice.org 3 will probably read them with no difficulty.
and it's free
Best of all, OpenOffice.org 3 can be downloaded and used entirely free of any licence fees. OpenOffice.org 3 is released under the LGPL licence. This means you may use it for any purpose - domestic, commercial, educational, public administration. You may install it on as many computers as you like. You may make copies and give them away to family, friends, students, employees - anyone you like.

Open Source Hardware?
Every open source project begins with an itch that needs scratching. Linux was launched when Torvalds decided he didn't like the operating systems available to him. The top three—Microsoft's DOS, Apple's operating system, and Unix—were all expensive and they were closed; Torvalds wanted a system he could tinker with. As it happened, a lot of other geeks wanted the same thing. So when Torvalds began working on Linux and sharing his code, other hackers were willing to pitch in and help improve it for free—creating a virtual workforce that was infinitely bigger and smarter than Torvalds himself. That is the central benefit of open source projects: They're like a barn raising in which everyone gets to use the barn. Somebody has a problem and creates a tool to solve it. And once the tool is created, hey—why not share it? The hard work has already been done. Might as well let others benefit.

Al Gore on Global Warming
Al Gore's presentation on Global warming has been popular ones.
He is an example of how politicians can be good at creating awareness on compelling challenges for human kinds.
If you had not got chance to see "An Inconvenient Truth", he award winning presentation on global warming, this one is short and efficient presentation that you can speculate what that would be.
It is long (about 27 min.), but is worth it!

A Chance to Grow
Shanti Sewa Griha - Nepal
Shanti Sewa Griha is a self-sufficient society for leprosy victims and other social outcasts.
Nepal is one of the few countries in the world where people still get leprosy. Effective treatments exist. But fear of the disease runs so deep that victims are often shunned even after they've been cured. Most end up as beggars around the country's temples - though even here they are often ostracised by other beggars.
Shanti Sewa Griha - meaning "Peace, Help and Home" in Nepali - was set up to help the beggars around one of the biggest temples in the capital Kathmandu. "We started with 13 leprosy affected people back in 1992," remembers Krishna Gurung, one of Shanti's founders. "Now we have altogether over a thousand people."
As well as medical care, Shanti also offers employment through tailoring, handicrafts and organic gardening. Even the most severely disabled are given some useful role. "It's about finding the talents that are hidden in them," says Krishna. "We have a badly maimed person but he can hold one device - he is making all the staircases, and he's doing a beautiful job." Shanti Sewa Griha has recently opened a new site outside the city. Building on the self-sufficient, village-like ethos of the original centre, the new site incorporates workshops, a school and a free health clinic.

Having Troubles with accessing programs
Houston!
we have problem.
Playing with ubuntu is fun. It gives a lot of trouble and we learn that way.
It is kinda hard to digest when you are really trapped in terms of time. You have no such prior knowledge but have to suffer.
The more interesting stuff being the fact that somebody already have suffered thru' such troubles and you can just google it!
Yes, you heard it.
Get in to trouble, google it and find the solution.
Makes sense?
Learning which key word to use to find solution is another issue.

DTV TRANSITION https://www.dtv2009.gov
From Feb 17th, 2009 USA is going digital. The full-power TV stations will stop broadcasting in analog and switch to 100% digital broadcasting. The useful resource would be: http://www.DTV.gov. If your TVs are connected to cable, they will continue to display [the same/full-power/broadcast] stations. However, analog-only TVs that receive those stations via an antenna won't display them after 2/17/09 unless you take action. (Those TVs should continue to display low-power, Class-A and translator TV stations and work with gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players, etc.)
Either you have to connect them for Cable, or replace those TVs or buy converter boxes that will allow them to display DTV signals. The NTIA will provide up to two $40 coupons per household for the purchase of such boxes. For information, visit https://www.dtv2009.gov or call 888-DTV-2009.
I found this one nice and informative:

Spammers will find the way out!
How many spams do you receive per week?
In my case it goes beyond 300+
The worst case: some nice emails also end up being filtered as spam.
But this week, I saw nice drop in spam trend.
When I said drop, it meant well filtered in my gmail inbox.
The number of junks in spam box never matters, just clean 'em up!
Now I can not wait to see what will be next measure taken by spammers to beat my gmail filter.
I am sure, they will.
It is fun!

What is the Reality?
In the movie The Matrix, Morpheus asks Neo: “What is real? How do you define real? If you’re talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.” What the movie doesn’t tell us is that even when Neo awakens from the fake world of the “Matrix” into the “real world,” his brain will continue to construct his subjective experience, as all of our brains do, and this experience may or may not match reality. So in a way, we all live in the illusory “matrix” created by our brain. Years before The Matrix, neurologist and Nobel laureate Sir John Eccles wrote: “I want you to realize that there exists no color in the natural world, and no sound—nothing of this kind; no textures, no patterns, no beauty, no scent.”

Hacked?
I have come across a fact that this site is being re-directed.
This is bad.
I have never installed something that re-directs the visitors.
What can cause that?
What might cause that?
Recently my another blogspot site was also hacked. I looked for help in blogger forum, could not find any good suggestions.
Who is doing this and what is causing it?
I am really upset at this point.

Wake up calls
This can have more than one meaning.
I realized in grade 8 that I am not going to be the painting artist.
I had to leave the art and had to concentrate on study.
I think I have started to get similar wake up calls.
Along with who you want to be, there are a lot of factors affecting what and how you want to treat the life to be.
Is it under control?
That is different question, but, for the time being, I am observing the world as it revolves.

Diversity Visa Lottery 2010 Starts Thursday, October 2
Diversity Visa Lottery 2010 Starts Thursday, October 2
The U.S. State Department has published its announcement of the 2010 Diversity Visa Lottery. The Diversity Visa lottery (DV) is a program mandated under Section 203 (c) of the Immigration Act of 1990. The legislation makes available up to 55,000 permanent resident immigrant visas by random selection through an annual diversity visa lottery.
The registration period will last for approximately sixty days, beginning at noon Eastern Daylight Time (GMT-4) on Thursday, October 2, 2008 and ending at noon Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5) on Monday, December 1, 2008. As has been the case for the last five years, the Diversity Visa Lottery Program will be conducted entirely on-line via the internet, through the officially designated website: http://www.dvlottery.state.gov . Paper entries are not accepted.
Individuals born in “High admission" countries, defined as those from which the United States has received more than 50,000 immigrants during the last five years in the immediate relative, family and employment preference categories, are not eligible to apply. The list of high admission countries that are NOT included in the diversity visa lottery are: Brazil, Canada, China (mainland born), Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, South Korea, the United Kingdom and dependent territories, and Vietnam.
Coming off the ineligible list of countries this year is Russia. Two new additions to the list of ineligible countries are Ecuador and Guatemala.
For the first time, in DV-2010, those who submit entries will be able to check the status of their entries on line and determine whether or not their entries are selected. Successful entrants will receive notification by paper mail.

Quantum Theory of Economics, Global Economics and Jump! Feature
Honestly, I love economics. I mean, while I was reading my brother's demand analysis back in 2005 or so I was impressed by its practicality.
May be, I just love everything: that's why I am Physicist.
The trigger was this picture which I saw in Mashable. Some one was really upset about the Wall Street fluctuations. It is serious matter.
It reads ...
Let me connect this to the recent remarks by Nepali Finance Minister (FM) Dr. Bhattarai. He was also talking about jump. Jump like frog. So, economics needs jump!
JUMP! this is how discrete way of thinking is needed to describe the system when classical method is failing.
Does it mean that we need a Quantum Theory of Economics?
By the way, Nepali PM was in NYC last week. I believe that his FM did not make him hang that pic!
;)

clustrmap team replies: nice!
- On http://ajabgajab.blogspot.com/2008/08/idea-clustrmap-should-improve.html Clustr map wrote: Hi... great points... and just to show how much we love our enthusiastic users, read all their blog postings, and respect those with constructive comments, we've just upgraded you to the ClustrMaps+ service at no charge (better zoomed-in maps, no more ads). The zooms should be available within 48 hours, and the ads are already gone. (Heh, we hope you'll move us up to a higher 'more noticeable' position in your blog gutter, but of course this is NOT a prerequisite, i.e. we have already upgraded you). You will be able to zoom in to each continent, plus also the UK (more countries eventually), and that is deliberate... Regarding zooming, note that other similar services use Google Maps, which gives you great zooming, of course, *BUT*, a) they only show 'the last 100 (or 1000) visitors' (we show ALL of them, no matter how many!!!) b) such detailed accuracy is completely misleading, because every service can only be 'approximately' as accurate as the IP address, which is often just the location of the user's Internet Service Provider. c) such services are much slower to load all the 'push-pins' than our display, which pre-computes every location and pre-stores every map. Our specialty is the 'gestalt' or 'coarse-grained' view, massive scalability, and speed of display. We will shortly be adding a listing of city/state information anyway so you will be able to see that too. Regarding color-coded dots, we are already working on something similar, but our intention is to keep it very very simple (too much complexity defeats the purpose of our very fast and simple display). All the best, and thanks for sticking with us. -CJ on behalf of the ClustrMaps Team

Three column template versus web2.0 theme and two column blogs
I have been clinging to the current theme for more than 6 months by now.
Sometimes I think of changing the style once in a while.
In the beginning, I used to change a lot of style. Whenever I got free time, I would sit and kill the current theme and then look out for new ones. But the problems would be regarding the speed and look.
I have seen pretty much every kind of design my now: while blog hopping.
I am thinking ...
Which one is the best....
Three column template or web2.0 theme or two column themes?
I can say that I do not like two column themes.
So, it really comes down to three column themes versus web 2.o themes.
(well, wordpress based themes are really awesome too)

Drawing attentions
I noticed that children try to draw attentions to their parents and want to keep them on focus. One part of psychology. So, they keep doing some interesting stuffs.
In the case of my blog, I have no idea on what should I do to draw attention from the public so that dai will be visible in the blog-o-sphere.
Do you have any idea on how to draw attentions from the visitors?
I am also wondering on how I can clarify the claim made by one of the friend by saying that "it is just collection of things found on internet". Well, yes and no!
I have been writing my experiences in using internet and some programming skills and tricks. If they can be found online (already) thats fine with me. I can say that my stuffs are clear and to the point.
That's it for now!

In order to fulfill the wishes of the grieving family, we urge all our friends to kindly contribute whatever you can so that his family members in Nepal could perform Mr. Bhattarai’s final rites. According to one government official, the transportation cost and expenses can run up to USD 15,000.00.
As time is of essence, we urge everyone to visit http://www.nepalicommunity .com/ashok_bhattarai and click on “Donate” button to support us financially for this cause. The donation is being collected using Nepali Association of Houston's PayPal Account. It accepts major credit/debit card for your kind contribution.
May Mr. Bhattarai’s soul rest in peace. May God provide the strength to his beloved family members and friends to go through such tragic event.

Productivity Chart: Thinking about it!
Looking at my blogging habits, I found that it is not purely stochastic.
I know it, the process has been driven by many factors.
Can you predict how many posts I will be producing in the month of october and november?

Starting as a part of hobby and producing up to 25 posts (per month)at maximum is something that has amazed me.
