Changed the Header picture, thats it !

Have changed the header picture. Previous was:That was also a nice picture, that's what I think :D
The present picture was found online when I was trying to work on Blender, last summer. While I was trying to locate it on the web, It was not so easy to find it. The image search is still a hard one. I had preserved its original name, so I was finally able to get the source. Source:http://img86.imageshack.us/my.php?image=spacescapenoshipdk4.jpg
I have cropped it and added the title : "Time!"
In order to get the desired image, the image has to be of the same name, otherwise one will get the image of something else.
*
In the background, I got the news that: Google has started the service of image labeler: http://images.google.com/imagelabeler/
This is what I was thinking (about such possibilities, not blaming anyone). I mean When you search for a picture of table, you must be able to get a table not other items.
So far we are able to get the picture if and only if the name of the picture contains table. otherwise we are used to see different pictures like "search for table" but get "a girl on table or a rose on the table or whatever.
It is a nice start.
Once the data starts to pile up, the results will be nice.
How nice? See the following:
http://www.jumbojoke.com/google_2084_662.html

It will be able to give nice search results whether the pic has been labelled like DSC12345 or whatever.
Once you/anyone tags it, it is identified. And we know google loves to store everything. Everything. (I have a plan to write about that too, someday).

My previous posts about these topics can be seen at:

Empty Chairs in Dining Room ...

Empty Chairs in Dining Room ...

I had stayed in DD's place for nearly 7+ years.
It was just like being a part of that family. I had been to my family for seventeen years before that.
In DD's place we had set up chairs and tables for six of us. and the chairs were pretty much fixed. Everyone had got the chair. When I came to USA, one of the chairs were empty. Always!
That makes me sentimental.
Moreover, When I was back in my Native place with my family, I used to give turn to my father (Ba)for dinner. Either I or Ba had to eat first and then wait for the turn. We had a little shop and needed to be open till late night and most of the business was around that time everyone would get out after the dinner to our place and would talk. So, We had to do it in turns. When I went to Kathmandu for my education, they had lost the one who would come and ask if he/she wants turn.
Oh! that makes me more sentimental.

This thanksgiving, I realized that how many chairs are there in the whole world which are empty. How many eyes are there waiting for the kids to come back. The families the friends ...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Why do we need to clone anymore?

Death is certain. We should die at some point. Some people prefer cloning method as a way to view the procrastination of death. Life will be quite boring without death. :D

Refreshing Music

Just Becoming more and more crazy, I was doing and redoing the homework. I wanted a break. The great source of entertainment: Online music. I have meditation music on the Opera browser and some nice sites like musicovery and pandora tabbed on the Firefox. I looked for some change. Let's try the yahoo music!
EEk!
The yahoo Radio does not support the Firefox!(OR VICE VERSA)
What?
That was the problem when I was in Nepal : At least one and half year, and still they have not paid attention to it. Hey yaHOO!
They can be played on IE, however.
I don't understand why?
I become irritated when my Picasa and Yahoo messenger opens up the IE!
What the heck?
We still have no choice?

The yahoo video, however, was supported on Firefox. It used to be that, they were also not supported but they have their own yahoo player.
It is also putting up less ads. That is better.
OK!
I am wondering now, whether it is illegal to post the lyrics of the favourite music.
Any good suggestions?

Black Friday Shopping!!!

Everyone seems to be excited. One more reason to spent money. (on the background I am reading the news: http://www.reuters.com/article/ousiv/idUSN1529598920071116)
What is your plan?
Me?
I ... I don't know, may be pendrive, may be an external HDD! I do have three already.
One was from Nepal 256 MB (don't laugh, it was from the day when it was about 1800 Nrs.), another gift by Mathworks: 256 MB (it is a gift man, never mind!), and one was bought from online deal at about 11 Dollar.

I already have a nice camera and a laptop. Anything more than that is much luxurious for me.

Do you have any plan for this Black Friday?

Something to write (may not make sense)

It is 2 min. to the next day.
I am online.
Trying to find something else to write.
I have found that the daylight saving time has not been considered in the internet. Because, in some of the blogs I could see the "wrong date". Wrong date because my local time is 11.58 and they have shown it as next day. It means that their server have been located somewhere else and the date generator is server side. Daylight saving offsets!
While stumbling randomly through the blog-spot blogs, I could find that there are many you-tubed blogs. The subject lines may be funny videos, and what not. I find one question in my mind: Is it OK to have you-tube videos on blogs?
What about having lyrics of favorite songs?
Does that violate the copyright laws?
Another interesting question in my mind is whether my blog is more and more cluttered with rubbish ads. Like amazon.com ads. These ads are never useful to no body. Makes me to think about switching to wordpress. But, this is just the beginning. Just now I have started to get some nice and intellectual responses besides the regular visit of the net crawlers.

Thanks for the visits and comments.

I will keep posting!

DayLight Saving Offset

After Nov.4th, US-EST time has been moved back to one hour earlier than what it used to be.
This is Daylight Saving.
But my body also has a clock.
It knows at what time do I need to sleep, get up and eat.
Now I feel hungry at the same body time but the clock says it is 12!
Hell, I can not convince myself the fact that the alarm is ringing, inside my body.
Even after a week into the Day Light Savings, I feel the same.
Sunday, I tried to sleep up to 8AM, I could not. I kept myself waking up at 7.30, 7.45 and finally I gave up at 8!
At least, I tried to.
These are effects of not being able to adapt quickly into new rules.

I think more nice ways to explain Day Light saving time are given in:
http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/b.html
http://www.infoplease.com/spot/daylight1.html
wikipedia featured article:

No Phone Call?

No Phone Call?

It is quite weird that I am doing some programming and its not going quite OK. No, No, it is not weird that program has gone crazy, it is a regular trouble. I enjoy it. The other regular stuff is missing: Phone call. I have not received a single call tonight! Usually, when I reach home, put my cell into charger and enter the kitchen. i miss some calls in this interval and call them back(with apologies). Talk with friends and laugh a little bit. But it is strange, It is about 11:49, and nobody has called.
Phone service in USA is relatively dear. So, we talk after 9 pm. It is free after that. Friends are connected after 9(upto 12). We share the moments and keep ourselves updated of our situations. We are more connected here, in USA, than we used to be back in our country: Nepal. Everyone knows nearly what the other is doing.
But today, it is weird!
I can not believe it, I look into the phone, really no one called. OK, fine, I am gonna call only on Saturday and i will be calling everyone on my telephone address book (may be this time I will start with z, not with regular A).
I am thinking: may be this is the middle of the semester (everyone busy in assignments/tests ) and everyone may be exactly feeling the same thing: No calls, huh?

Oh wait, some body just called! Let me see who is this?

Missed the bus! Wow!

I missed the bus. But I got the chance to see around. I had my camera with me today. My friends wanted to take some close up pics. I love taking pics. It was 20 more minutes to wait. What could I do? The driver had seen me crossing the street and he was on the red sign. But, the light changed, and despite seeing me running like a crazy, he drove away!
But when I took the pics. I thanked the driver for going. and giving me the chance to see around.
PS: The slide show worked in ie and firefox but not in opera. Please see the pics here
