Test...

This is a test of whether I can post by emailing or not.
I have put some kinda map which shows the visitor locations by country. and with the size of the bubble gives the number of impact.
Its a matter of great pleasure to see who are your audience but the fact that the author himself is the great audience which creates biggest bubble.
Houston, we have a Problem!!!
So, I think, If I can post my email, it will avoid the self visit and enlarging of the bubble. There by leaving other bubbles nearby to be visible.

Prashant Tamang on Indian Idol 3

Some people think that he is like a Sanjaya Malakar of American Idol. Some people believe that he is the next Indian Idol. Some vote for him and some simply do not. Well, there are choices.

Prashant Tamang has become a matter of talkies in the colorful screen. There are many blogs dedicated to him, sites to wish him and videos on youtube on his performances. He has a support of public. The truth is that Prashant Tamang has become idol for many people.

Without being affected by bias that he is of Nepalese origin, I can say that his voice is very very nice. But it is also a sour truth that his voice lacks some kind of formal training, lacks some professional touch. Moreover, he just wants to sing some cheap songs. As Udit Narayan Jha suggested, it is not a college idol contest, it is an indian Idol contest.

I am confident in writing that his performances (without formal training) to come to the top ten list of Indian Idol is praise-worthy and wish him all the best.

Time evolution of Taste

Sense of "loving"/or "hating" something depends upon the degree of freedom. Everyone in the world is free to enjoy this, if the world is really free place to live.

Under the situations of developments from the very childhood, we develop some kind of our own taste which is strongly influenced by the environment on which one is growing up. One of my friend had forwarded me a power point slide show of situations where some kids were simply unhappy because they were not provided with their “favourite sport shoes”; while on the other part of the world, kids had to walk without the sandles. This is still true.

Analysis of these can go everywhere.

In anyway, we do develop a sense of taste.

An important aspect of this taste is that it takes a definite shape and stays there. My question is does such taste evolve with time? The examples are social beliefs and customs of myths.

How many of us would really love to switch the choices ?

For example, when I was growing up, I listened a lot of pop music and thus was very attached to it. Later, when I resumed on to the habit of music, It had changed a lot!!!

I just could not listen the rap and hip hop, which my nephew loved.

I was shocked to see the fact that I was really isolated by some reasons of my taste, that I had been avoiding the rapid popularities of that kinds of music. I may have tuned my FM when time for such music had come and simply avoided the infection onto myself by clinging on the same fashion.

I had to develop a great bar of tolerance to listen and to start to feel little bit comfortable with rap and hip-hop.

I can see many people who will simply avoid new developments and mask the developments of such fields and to get thrilled (finally) by the strong existence of such pre-avoided things around in the atmosphere. The face to face encounter in such case may generate enormous amount of reactions.

The problem is that the world is so small but so vague that one can not pay attention to it.

I am interested in how and who generates the new tastes? Has it to be a part of famous accidents or experiments or the time evolution?

One more PhD!!!

Today, Ananta (Adhikari) Sir defended his PhD thesis from the Department of Nanoscale science and Engineering. He was way far nervous and excited (in the words of his advisor). We all enjoyed his presentation.

There was severe problem with the projector display. Adding the pressure on the presenter. We tried changing three laptops and nine trial people. Finally there was some one who made it. The cable was unplugged! (sounds simple?)

After he was done, we went for lunch to chinese buffet on the western Ave.

I am glad in the sense that one more Nepali student is getting a PhD Degree.

His wife was also present at the presentation and lunch.

Congratulations to him!!!

Dead man's Blog:

DeaD man's Blog:

I know that looking into other people's diary is a crime (well , may be its not).
What will you do if you find a dead man's diary?

Tricky?

HA HA HA
It never matters whether the diary belongs to an alive man or a dead man.
It is readable (if there is no such notice), I will just read it.
But Promise, I will tell to no one!
One's views are there. And adding to the value is :it is time cooked. Means the feelings of that time, preserved, forever. Like taking a photo of a great moment. KODAK MOMENT!
I started writing when I was in class Eight. Inspired by the diary of the text book. A hap-hazardous one, tell you, I wrote it on the mid-day. I think, that's why I have been writing on the mid-days. In the night time, its just end of the day.
When does one start to write?
It differs. For me, when I am very packed, I do write.
BUSY and this SUMMER ?
Take DaBUR HAJMOLA.
I am serious.
This is 1:15 in the afternoon, and I am writing. I was supposed to write in the evening. At least I had planned to do so. After the Dinner.

I remember going to Norman Rockwell's Museum (http://www.nrm.org/) in Massachusetts; last Fall. I was told that it shows the life style of America around 50s. I loved it!!!
Like Dinoceros, we want to leave our footprints. (Lets say signatures)
Is this the reason that we are writing blogs?
Just imagine, after hundred years, somebody finds your blog. Ofcourse, supposing that you are already dead.
Is it readable? Informative? Entertaining?
Not my blog!

What should we write in Email?

When I went to Kathmandu, a 6 hours bus-drive from Hetauda, for education, the comment used to be: "Hey! no (Snail) mail?".
My question was why? If I can talk to you (family) by paying 5Rs. per minute on STD Phone, Why should I worry about mailing?
I did not (still do not) know the impact factor of such an object called mail: visible, touchable and as somebody thought "more rich in expression".
May be, I was trying to be a modernized people by killing the snail mail.

Yes of course, I would, mail my Credential to USA for applying to different universities.

Being in Foreign Country means a lot (to whom?). At least in terms of differences.
This reminds me of ancient human migration and inventions.
What makes the difference is dependent on what you bring back to your home, changed perspective on things and religions, life style or polished (or degraded) intellectual values.
Human beings migrated for different reasons: I came to learn on this topic while I was preparing my TOEFL exam.
The reason why human beings migrate now-a-days is not much different from the reason (used to be) those days.
I also remember teaching kids on social studies on reasons to migrate. If they could not vomit the point by point answer, I used to punish them in very many varieties. Perhaps, having suffered through many punishments, humans learnt to migrate (and students learnt to remember the reasons to migrate!).
The question, however, has been modified.
We can communicate, we do communicate (or so often not ).
This part of the world, where I am living, is visible and communicable; Even in some cases accessible to the equal amount to which I do enjoy here.
The world has become a small village, web has evolved into a new form: a non-detachable component of daily life.

The question is: What should we write in Email?
Will "anything" do?
May be not!!!

Search for Power law in Writings

Search for Power law in Writings:
{ See what everyone sees ....... Think what everyone does not!}

Today, In our group(Lab) meeting, we discussed about the power law and its applications. The components of Corresponding object, of which it is made up, if correctly identified, gives a great sense of scaling. For example the words and sentences I am typing in this blog are ordered in some ways and the amount (number) of words, letters, sentences, sections, paragraphs (and ...) possess some intelluctually sensable importance. I, being lazy, want to write as little as I can and want to express it, with as little confusion as that can be produced.

Levels and resolutions of each levels and scaling are important in every lattice type structure.
For example the power law involved in the Processor speed vs time.
I was amazed to hear about the moore's law (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moore's_law )

There are loops which confuses the distributions.and in my writings too there are loops.
The loops are, basically, meant to be aid for the development, but too much looping may kill the beauty!.

I must confess that i fail to write to reach to a good conclusion. May be a lot of time I would be posting without giving it a second look.
So, its creepy!
Well, I am not a professional writer, but that is never a good escape!

The correlations in writings is very important. This, when depicted in terms of the power law, becomes interesting.
Imagine a writing in which a chapter has no correlation to the overall theme of the book!
Its useless.

However, there can be some fluctuations. and it depends upon the reader too, how much fluctuations can s/he tolerate?
I think, in near future there will be some software which can tell whether you are in track while writing or have gone too far from what you started.
(like I have done in this piece........ Some one who needs that software is me! )
By the way what was the theme?
EEEEEHHH!!!

July4!

July4!
July 4 is the American independence day! Celebrated all over the America.

There was a large fireworks in downtown Albany. It was raining throughout the day, and I was in the Campus worried by the rain. No body wants to get wet!
Around 8:30 the rain stopped!!! and fortunately I had brought the camera with me to my room..........
Great Great Great!!!
I am not alone, walking down to down-town to see the Fireworks!!! many people are driving to downtown Empire state building.
The rain started again, after 5 minutes, I was trapped in mid-way. I better go and see it, I decided.
At 9:15, it started
See the pics (by me) here.
See the clips (by me) here.
Due to t-strom and rain, the program was canceled in many places; but not here!

Well, I am not a student of social history, but I have read (but will not copy and paste from the wikipedia: No more copy, leave it to bookmarks like delicious does!).
Taste of independence is the greatest achievement of the Human behavior.
If you are interested, please follow this link to see what is July 4th.
In anyway, we have been celebrating various things without learning the meaning of that particular occasion: Celebrating this might be Supposed under "one more is added", sounds good?
Nepali people are, specially, very lucky to come across many such occasions. We have about half a dozen New Years, and countably infinite celebrations going around in the country for equal number of Holidays. May be, thats the reason why we are more "Social".
